Guru Sri Apurba Kumer Choudhury

Guru Sri Apurba Kumer Choudhury Sri Apurba Kumar Choudhury,from the Jaipur Gharana style of Kathak, was the disciple of Guru Prahlad Das, Father & Guru of Pandit Chitresh Das. He also pursued training in Tabla under Ustad Mashid Khan & his son Ustad Keramutullah Khan, also Father of Ustad Sabbir Khan. He pursued training in Sitar under Pandit Birendra Kishore Roy Choudhury. Apart from the art line, he had also mastered in the field of Science, especially Physics. Books on Physics & Music by Him have been restored in the National Library at Kolkata. He also penned several poens in magazines apart from Music,Dance & Art, one of the well-known being "Nanoi".




He was also a Railway Commercial Law Officer and an Advocate at Calcutta High Court as well as Supreme Court, Delhi. Such a versatile personality, He went on to Establish Purvai which was previously just an Institute for preserving the Rich Indian Heritage and later on went on to organize Festivals across India aspiring to promote and popularize Indian Culture.
