Dr Suparna Venkatesh

The Dance company of Sai Venkatesh and Dr. Suparna Venkatesh. was established in the year 1996 , and since then SAI has been training disciples in Bharatanatyam , .and also introduced to different other classical and folk dance forms of India , thus creating promising and recognized artist in the field of art.Thus , the directors of SAI have created a niche for numerous dancers under their organization in this art field . SAI has successfully trained dancers for their Rangapravesha , trained disciples who have won scholarships from the Ministry of Culture, Centre for Cultural Resources and Training , Indian Council for Cultural Relations, and Karnataka Sangeetha Nrithya Academy. Doordarshan , a nation wide television channel has recognized the artist of SAI , and has awarded with ‘A’ and ‘B’grades based on their excellence in dance . ICCR has also empanelled artists from SAI. The Ministry of Culture has selected an artist of SAI as a Promising artist among numerous dancers. The disciples have completed their Master Degree in Dance at various Universities, where a good number have secured the Gold Medal . SAI artists are also pursuing their Ph. D in dance. SAI as an organization has been recognized by the ICCR as an Empanelled Institution. SAI has produced many dance productions with distinctive choreographic works, thus creating their own genre of dance which is well appreciated and is aesthetically beautiful for the onlookers .

DR. SUPARNA VENKATESH ( Karnataka Kalashree Awardee ) A Bharatanatyam and Kathak artist , a Guru , a Choreographer , and a Mentor for the Visually Challenged Dancers . She completed her Rangapravesha under her tutelage in 1981 . In 1996 she began her institution “ Sai Arts International “ along with her husband Sai Venkatesh , where she is the Dance Director . She further completed her Diploma in choreography at Natya Institute of Kathak and Choreography under the guidance of Guru Dr. Maya Rao . She furthered her academic persuits at Bangalore University attaining her Masters, Master of Philosophy , and Ph. D for her research on “ Devadasis of Karnataka , and their contribution to Dance and Music . “ She is an active member in the text book committee of the Karnataka Secondary Education Board Kathak . Her involvement in Articulate Ability, in training Visually Challenged Dancers , has taken her across continents. Recognizing her services Karnataka Government conferred on her the award “Karnataka Kalashree” in the year 2017.
